Reading IS Fundamental...And A Little Music Never Hurts!

Especially for my sanity!

See...it was another one of those days...you know the kind...the shitty ones that typically end in 'y".

Started off the day seething with animosity...which usually occurs the moment the workday begins...it abated somewhat in the afternoon hours, partially due to the fact that I was listening to music.

I switched from the random selection on the iTouch and opted to hear some harder driven, angry songs that helped a little. Also, listened to some I associate with my favorite shows (i.e. RJD2's "A Beautiful Mine" from Mad Men and Jane's Addiction's "Superhero" from Entourage) to keep up my hopes that I'm getting to where I want to be...albeit slower than I'd like.

Things got a little better when I arrived home. My package was waiting for me from Amazon!

Since a friend bought me Alice Cooper's "Golf Monster" (to your right on Shelfari), I've been itching to hear some music from him and ordered his greatest hits. The book is great and I just haven't really had time to finish it as of yet...but it's a fantastic read! Extremely interesting guy and just seems very down to earth.

I also received a collection of cartoons from the strip Ballard Street (which I didn't even know existed). The creator, Jerry Van Amerongen, used to write another little known strip called The Neighborhood way back when. You really have to have a VERY warped sense of humor and reality to appreciate his work because they all have an extremely absurd twist on the normal "slice of life" glimpses into the surreal world. I've shown the old collections to many and few have chuckled. (Here's an example of one I find hilarious above!)

So I wrap up my night with a good laugh from some of this collection...always in the hopes that tomorrow will be just a little better!

Though...knowing life in general...probably not...

;)

But like Red in The Shawshank Redemption...I hope!

Get well Jade!

Lol...well that was my last latex experiment with Halloween makeup! Haven't had the chance to dress up again since! So I guess I'm at least saving a little cash and time each year.

Out here you can barely tell that Halloween's right around the corner..that's the one thing I miss about this time of year back there. Leaves falling, getting a little chilly, etc.

But you can't beat the nice weather year round!

Go Steelers! Lol
