Aha! Moments

"We're talking away
I don't know what
I'm to say"
--Take On Me, A-Ha

Remember that episode of Seinfeld where George has what he thinks is the perfect retort to an insult ("Yeah, well the jerkstore called and they're running out of you!)? At the end, he's seething with anger because he once again missed out on a golden opportunity to make another comeback...

We've all experienced that moment...things we wish we could have said at some point and, if given another opportunity, it's usually too late...

One of those "Aha!" moments hit me tonight. It wasn't based on an insult or anything. I was just thinking of a conversation I had with a friend weeks ago when I was just feeling a bit down in the dumps and overwhelmed. In fact, little the friend said had to do with it.

It's just that I was ruminating over a particular comment I made and tonight, for some strange reason, it popped back into my head when I was doing the mundane chore of laundry...but the best part is the line I came up with next.

It would really take too long to share it here. Besides, that's what I enjoy about being a writer...one of my characters gets to say it!

(Oh, that's another reason I can't repeat it here...lol...in case someone steals it!)

Anyway, after my mini vacation back to see family and a good friend, it's time to get back to work...speaking of the mundane...

;)

Until next time, enjoy this version of the song quoted above. When I first saw this, I couldn't stop laughing!

You know Sean this really made me laugh. I used to work for a this doctor who used to tease me mercilessly and i could NEVER think of a good comeback until hours later. By then of course it was far too late. I suspect that he enjoyed that even more than teasing me, which of course only frustrated me even more.

Tell me Sean, does doing laundry always produce suck Aha! moments? If so you are always welcome to do mine as well *cheesy grin*

Are you sure, Sean? I can give you a whole lot more if you change your mind..it's amazing how much laundry can accumulate over a week..
