Hark The Herald Neighbors Sing!

The first thing I do when I get up in the morning is throw some heavier clothes on and walk the dog. Everything was going along swimmingly until...

I hear a dog barking loudly and then turn to see a huge brown monster running straight at my dog. Of course I held mine back but if he wanted to have Jack for a snack, I couldn't have stopped him.

This led me to wonder where the owner was and why the dog wasn't on a leash.

Then, here comes a doppelganger of Blue from Old School with a ribbon on his head. Since it was Christmas morning, I decided not to point out the fact that he was an idiot and, instead, said "Good morning. Merry Christmas!" I think he mumbled "How are ya?" but I'm not sure.

Now flashback quickly to Christmas Eve. One of my friends invited me over to his place because he was having a party. When I got there, I did feel a tad awkward as it was him, his girlfriend...and his entire family. I thought there would be more people there, but no.

However, I do have to say that they all immediately made me feel welcome and there was non stop conversation for two hours. They were really nice people and, for the first time in a long time, I didn't feel alone during the holiday. It reminded me that there are really nice people out there who actually care.

Then the moron this morning brought me back to stark reality.

I refused to go through the day angry, though. I came back, started to cook my turkey, stuffing, etc. and then had a nice meal later on.

Since the TV pickings of holiday entertainment were sparse (I counted four channels that actually aired holiday programming), I decided to watch The Ref sporadically throughout the day while cooking. Originally I had planned on a bevy of films but, between keeping an eye on the fixins and responding to glad tidings from around North America, I only had time to watch that and less than an hour of It's A Wonderful Life.

I capped the night off while watching a special on the History Channel that pertains to a TV pilot I'm working on but, due to the rigors of the day, nodded off halfway through...oh well, I can always buy the DVD, right? ;)

All in all, it wasn't a bad Christmas...but I did miss my family...I think next year, no matter what, I'm going to make that trek home...even if for only a few days.

Why would I, though, when the neighbors triumphantly rang in my day? Lol

And as for Christmas presents? Probably the most unexpected one is the potential gallbladder problem I've been dealing with!

If ya make the trip back home, look up Vic.

Oh, I forgot, why drum up old friendships with your new life in Vegas.

Why doesn't Vic ever give me a call or send an e-mail?

Weird how technology works both ways!

But why drum up old friendships when back home has all kinds of new ones?

;)

Sean,

Vic doesn't have a phone number or an email address to call you at.

I have tried to find you since you called me that last time from a few summers ago.

Somehow Deb found me, and she asked if I ever heard from you. I told her I had no idea where you were, and lost touch. It was her that told me you were in Vegas. I asked her to see if she could get me in contact with you and she informed me that you "didn't want to dig up the past. What was there is there and you wanted to leave it there." So I left it alone. All she did was give me the address to your blog. So I decided to see what you've been up to.

Sorry for the harsh post the other day. Things have been rough around here, and I guess it rubbed off in my post.

If you would like to get back in touch again, let me know. I'd be happy to exchange information with you so that we can get caught up.

Things have been tough everywhere...believe me. I know. I told her thanks for getting you pissed off and to just give you my e-mail.

She wanted me to get on MySpace or Facebook...whatever. It's just tough keeping up with everyone and with at least 5 or more years gone by, that's a lot of catching up to do. I'm just not a big fan of the technological age...lol.

Was this recently that you told her to get me your email? Or is it the original time that you are talking about? If it was the latter, I never did get the address from her.

Like I said, let me know if you want to exchange some contact information. Its worth it to me to take the time to catch up. We had a lot of good times in the past, and I still consider you one of my best friends that I got to know.

Let me know.

Vic

I sent her an e-mail a few days ago so she should have given it to you by now.

I just haven't had time to really keep in touch with many people...have only been back there a handful of times since I moved here and even then didn't really have time to see anyone.

The fact that I'm 3 hrs behind makes it difficult too. That's why I just tell people to call or e-mail me because I'm up late.

No email as of yet. I'll try to get in touch with her to get it. When I do, I'll shoot out an email to you letting you know.

Talk to you soon.

Well tell her to get her fucking ass off of myspace and facebook with her 450 fake friends and give you the info.

In fact, I'll send her an e-mail too.
