Just talkin' 'bout my generation...

With respect to The Who...

I find that maybe I grew up in the wrong time.

I left a reference on a friend's blog regarding the song "You Can't Take That Away From Me"...and I knew it was a Gershwin tune, but--and just to double check--I googled it...

Whose name came up first?

MARIAH CAREY?

WTF?!?

Sinatra...that's who should come up!

Or even Lisa Stansfield who did a great rendition on The Glory of Gershwin...I think it's out of print, but it's truly worth it if you can grab a copy...I got mine when it came out! ;)

Or this...which was on the first page...enjoy...

But I still have hope that my generation remembers the song for what it was...creative...romantic...and better than most of the music today...

Now excuse me while I go check out a dame with moxie and great gams!

;)

*sighs* oh Sean that was wonderful. It makes me cringe when I hear or read someone referencing one of those old songs as being by a contemporary artist. No matter how good the remake may be it never matches the original.

Sometimes it does. I was actually surprised how much I liked Michael Buble's renditions of songs.

The thing is, that you have to have the right voice. Today's artists don't have that...
