You're a foul one, Mr. Zip!
You would think that mailing a package in the modern era would be simple, right?
Not if you choose that fine institution known as the US Postal Service.
Maybe it's just here in Vegas, but I've never had as many problems with the post office as I've had here. In terms of quality, they're slightly a notch above DHL (and you can see how they fared in the US--I hope that my many complaints about them had something to do with them turning tail and heading back overseas, but probably not...I can dream, can't I?)
Anyway, about two weeks before Christmas, my family had shipped some cookies Priority Mail.
Priority, noun, superior in rank, position or privilege; something given or meriting attention before competing alternatives.
Mail, noun, material sent or carried in the postal system.
So anything sent via this method (for a higher fee, mind you) should arrive within the allotted "one to three (business) days" as stated by the post office.
Right?
I suppose they've started to take liberties with that notion since two of the packages didn't arrive until the day before Christmas and one not until the following week.
I recently mailed a package out to a friend across the country. Once again, I used the PRIORITY MAIL method as the preferred way of shipping it. This was mailed the day after Christmas.
God knows where it is.
Now I understand that around the holidays, some mail may be delayed. That's a given. However, it shouldn't be more than an extra day or two. This has been about a week and a half now.
No wonder we have zero faith in our government any longer. If they can't handle a simple package from one person to another with consistent practice since at least 1775, how in the hell can we get something like quality medical care for everyone?
As for the postal service...well, from now on...
"I wouldn't touch you with a
thirty nine and a half foot pole."
Given the choice, I think I'll go with UPS or Fed Ex from now on. At least I KNOW it will get there when it's supposed to!

How about mailing me some of those cookies?
Go with FedEX, they're the better of the two.
