Locked Away

Someone remarked today that I hadn't written anything in a while and wanted to know if anything was wrong.

Lol. Where do I begin?

But I won't bore people with tales of woe because, frankly, I'm tired of thinking about them.

There are just some things that aren't necessary to share with the entire world. I know quite a few people think that, in the technological age, everything is game for public viewing. Not me.

I've always been mostly a private person and there are so few that know much of the intricate details of my life...just as I suspect there are those close to me that haven't shared each and every detail with me either.

Which is ok. Some things are meant to be locked away and dealt with personally. There's a personal safe deposit box within each of us and we rarely give anyone else the other key to peer in and see what's inside.

I think I tossed the other key away years ago...lol. What's inside is of no consequence to anyone and should remain private, never to see the light of day again. I know what's inside...and no one else should bear that burden.

The one thing that made me laugh today, however, had to do with my odd little thought process. I was thinking about my relationship with a family member who shall remain nameless. They have a good heart but rarely show it. Instead, they cast no blame at themselves for their lot in life but feel that it's necessary to point out faults with everyone else and, in some cases, blame others for their mistakes.

And I thought to myself that (if it would even do any good, but it won't) I should tell them "You're emotionally selfish."

My next immediate thought was of the image of Fezzik piping in and adding "Anybody want some shellfish?"

Sometimes that's the sort of thing that keeps me going throughout the day.

Sometimes, though...it's just not enough.

You know skitcheroo … I think you’re one of the brightest people I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing, but I really gotta disagree with this one. I agree, we don’t necessarily need to be an open book for the entire world (yes, I learned a rather harsh lesson on that one myself), but I think that if you’re ever truly lucky enough to find that one …. that incredibly special person who just “gets you” … it’s neither locked, requiring a key nor a burden for them to know. It’s a journey of exploration for two kindred spirits to not only gain a better understanding of each other, but consequently themselves.

Just my 2 cents *pulls out calculator for exchange* ya, really not worth that much, I know.

But dude, I’m TOTALLY up for some shellfish! With butter …. LOTS of butter!!

K,

I was going to include something to that effect but not only is finding the right one nearly impossible, but trying to overcome all the obstacles that are present is like getting to the Holy Grail.

Your 2 cents is always welcome! It's worth a lot to me! :)

*tosses in a few more pennies*

you just never know where they are .... next door, next country, next continent ... just hope not Venus (or in my case Mars).

You're up to 4 cents! ;)

Let's just hope that things never turn out like Life On Mars!
