Fight The Power (Outage)

Eddie Rabbitt loves a rainy night. So do I to a certain extent.

Except when said rainy night causes massive power outages and I'm forced to sit in the dark.

My original plan for Wednesday night was to go out, enjoy some wings and perhaps even a few frosty libations to wind down from the past few days.

Nah. It seems that a horde of severe storms rolling through the area would put a kibosh on that.

Ok, then. Maybe I'll stay at home, relax and pop in a movie.

Sorry, pal.

The power went out at 8pm.

No phone, no lights, no motor car, not a single luxury...it truly was as primitive as can be.

I would have even opted to read a magazine, newspaper, book...something! I didn't have my night vision goggles either so that was pretty much out of the question too.

The power came on shortly before 8am this morning and cable and internet just a few scant moments ago.

Just in time for me to have to start getting ready for work...

Maybe I can do something this weekend. Or not...

There are storms coming in. ;)

thank GOD it's finally raining.

power outages suck, but are also fun for lighting candles and reading by a fire (if you had a place to build a fire).

I was going to point out candles, but Lana beat me to it.

Skitcheroo ... really ... there was a time before DVD's, cable and internet ... when people sat around on a warm June evening and enjoyed one another's company ...

*giggles*

Glad to see you survived it!

The timing of it all makes me suspicious....I mean c'mon the power comes on just in time for you to get ready for work? A coincidence? I think not.

This is proof of something I've thought for a long time now: God is a sadist lol

Lana,

Well, I CAN build a fire...however, there's no particular place for it, so that might cause some trouble. ;)

K,

Lol...Yes, there are some people's company I would enjoy. Not the ones I was saddle with. ;)

Like I said, I didn't mind that there was no power, per se...I just had literally NOTHING to do...

Karen,

There's a god?!?

I must be his/her favorite sitcom then. ;)

No Sean there is only a sadist who sits up there and thinks: Hmmmm how can I fuck (person of the day)their life up.

Why is it that every time I read your blog I end up with a song stuck in my head?
