Fault lines and daymares

"Then I went off to fight some battle

That I'd invented inside my head"

--Fortress Around Your Heart, Sting

They say that idle hands are the devil's workshop...

So what's an idle mind?

Isn't that actually worse than idle hands because at least you can sometimes occupy those through menial everyday tasks?

The mind, though, tends to race and, when not busy with something, can really take you places.

Sometimes those places are far darker than anything that preys upon you in the wee hours of the night because in the day they seem more real...more of a viable possibility.

At night you search for the meanings of your dreams as to how exactly they pertain to your life.

During the day, the meaning seems obvious but really as far from reality as could possibly be for the most part.

But that's one of my faults...I think too much, therefore I am...

...analytical...

If nothing else, though, it's great fodder for future writings...and while I abhor the "daymares", they do come in handy somewhere down the line! ;)

"When I'm deep inside of me don't be too concerned

I won't ask for nothin' while I'm gone. "

I would guess most of the human race *wink*

or Me lately ... would you like to know what kind of designs are on My bedroom ceiling? I've equated it to cloud watching.
